Highly Sensitive Person
“The wound is the place where the light enters you”
~Rumi
Have you ever been told that you are too sensitive or that you should get over it? A Highly Sensitive person is someone who sees the world through different eyes and feels the world on a deeper level. HSP’s are born with a biological personality trait called sensory processing sensitivity that occurs in 15-20% of the population. Being a highly sensitive person, you are a perceptive individual, aware of subtleties and of facial expressions, body language, and emotional cues.
Does any of this sound like you?
- You feel everything deeply and often have strong emotions
- Often you feel worried, anxious, or emotionally exhausted and you don’t know why
- You are easily overwhelmed by loud noises, strong smells, bright lights, and crowded places
- You are moved by the beauty of art, music, and nature
- You have difficulty letting go of negative thoughts and emotions
- You feel emotionally exhausted from absorbing other people’s emotions
- You have a rich inner life, and you tend to like time by yourself
- You often feel misunderstood
I work with clients to help them identify their challenges, create a greater awareness of their sensitivity so that it no longer leaves them feeling overwhelmed in their life. If you are tired from feeling overwhelmed and frustrated with yourself let me help you realize how to live with your sensitivity and see it as a gift.
